Today was a very informational day. I learned about calculating the minimum price I can afford to sell my products for. To do this, I must calculate how much it costs me to make the product from "A-to-Z." Next, I have to add the cost of shipping if it is not charged as an additional fee to my customers. If I am selling on eBay or Etsy, I have to calculate what the site charges for each sale. I have to then find out what other people sell similar items for and how much their products cost. This is my competition and I need to understand why they price their items at a certain cost. If my product creation costs are greater than the normal price range that the product sells for, then my competitors are essentially dominating the market and there is no room for my product. If this is the case, I would have to start looking at different product ideas.
I learned today that anyone could create and sell digital art. To create profit from digital art, you must have dedication, skill, hard work, and luck since the competition is large. However, if this is your passion, do not let competition stop you. There are many methods by which one can create digital art. This is because they can lead to electrocution, which can be fatal. To continue, to avoid electrocution, always discharge large capacitors before touching them if they have been powered on in the last few years. There were quite a few other things I learned, but overall, these were the most important safety precaution takeaways for me.
