Today I was introduced to some more web development roles. These roles include, QA engineer, release manager, product manager, project manager, and CTO. I also learned about website administration and how to host your website. Information about hosting a website included videos about shared web hosting and managed hosting, hosting a website at no cost, uploading a website to your host, and also what a domain name and DNS is.
Today, I started off by gaining more knowledge about creating web sites. I learned CSS layouts with flexbox, how to function multiple pages with HTML and CSS, how to add images, and responsive web design. I was also introduced to the many different job roles for people with web development skills. Some of these jobs include, front-end and back-end developers, web architect, data architect, and system administrator. I hope to look into more of these jobs in the future as options for web development roles.
Today I got started with practicing creating websites using the coding languages HTML and CSS. I learned the basics of HTML, HTML with CSS, and layouts for both languages. I used Khan Academy to complete coding challenges which were really fun and understandable. I learned about <br> which are breaks, which adds emphasis, which makes the words bold, and many more. I hope to gain more knowledge tomorrow!
Today, I learned about the prerequisites needed in order to work as a remote web developer. I learned about some basic web development concepts such as coding languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc. I also watched a 2 hour video that helped me gain knowledge about the salary rates and the process of learning web development and when you can start applying for jobs and earning income off of the skill. I hope to learn more about web development tomorrow!
Today I learned about some jobs you can do in order to live a jet setter lifestyle. Some of these jobs include social influencer, travel vlogger, travel photographer, travel writer, and a digital nomad. All of these jobs and many more, allow you to earn income while simultaneously traveling to places and doing fun activities that you wanna do. I also made a list of areas in my life I hope to improve in such as financial management, productivity, etc. I hope to start an elective unit tomorrow.
Today, I gained more knowledge about how to find a good mentor and get them to mentor you. I also started thinking about the people in my life and ones I look up to to decide who I wanted to be my role model and inspire me throughout my path to success. Furthermore, I watched a video on how to live a jet setter life which is basically a lifestyle where you can live your life to the fullest (travel, vacation, etc.) and still earn a good income. I will definitely be looking into that more so that one day I can live a jet setter lifestyle!
Today I learned about how I can control my emotions when i'm feeling pressured by life. I discovered some great techniques that can be used for handling stress and improving happiness. I also found methods that can be used to remain calm and level-headed when stressed and the power of speech. Furthermore, I learned that having a positive role-model throughout your life journey can be very helpful when needing long-term inspiration and motivation.
Today, I watched videos about how I can plan my days and use my time productively. I also learned about hyper productivity and how it can make a huge change to one's daily life. I will definitely implement that technique into my life. Furthermore, I read articles regarding health and productivity. I learned why it was important to make exercising regularly a habit and how to sustain good mental health.
Today I learned about how to manage money by cutting out unnecessary purchases which will increase your available funds. I also learned that it's better to avoid making purchases using credit because interest fees can add up if you float your balances. I gained knowledge about liquidity which is a term indicating how easily you can withdraw money from an investment incase of an emergency. Furthermore, I learned about skills that help you successfully manage your time and ways to use your time productively. I hope to learn more about time management tomorrow.
Today I learned about the importance of budgeting and how budgeting can improve your financial management skills by allowing you to plan and watch how you spend your money. I also learned about resale value and the difference between smart purchases, wasteful purchases, and consumables. Lastly, I learned how to minimize unnecessary spending by paying less or purchasing less. I watched videos of people who saved 100% of their income and found their lifestyles very intriguing.
(7/25), (7,26), (7,28) On Monday, I learned about how to negotiate salary during the hiring process. I also learned more about resume tips and how to ace both virtual and in person interviews. I gained knowledge about professionalism and how to stand out exceptionally from other applicants on Tuesday. Finally, on Thursday I learned more about scams and how to improve the quality of your life.

Today I learned a little bit about how to manage and be aware of your finances. I started off by learning the difference between net and gross income and how gross is the total you earned before taxes and net is the amount you are able to take home after taxes have been applied. Although I already knew that New York City is one of the most expensive cities, I estimated my cost of living using an estimator for more accuracy and I was shocked to see how expensive it would be if I were to continue living in NYC as an adult. I hope to learn more about how I can improve the quality of my life next week at Techie Youth.
Today, I learned about processes and skills needed to successfully work a remote job. I was introduced to the onboarding process which is fundamental before working at a company. I learned about how important skills like productivity, communication, scheduling, etc. are important when it comes to working remotely. Furthermore, I gained knowledge about how scammers scam people and how dangerous they can be especially when working remotely.
Today, I learned about different remote employment opportunities. I was introduced to several gig websites that list remote roles and companies that have remote work opportunities. I also learned about how to prepare for a job interview to make sure it is successful. These tips from videos and articles will help me when I decide I want to get a job.
Today, I learned more about things to do and things to avoid when seeking employment. I learned the importance of correspondence with an employer when it comes to trying to get hired. I read articles about why your public image is important and read examples of students who have faced consequences such as losing college offers due to their social media behavior. Lastly, I watched videos that gave advice on how to prepare for interviews when the time comes.
Today, I learned different ways to get paid when you are employed. One of the main ways is by opening a checking account. This account is very popular and helpful for people who want to receive check-based payments. I also learned the difference between merchant accounts and payment service providers when it comes to accepting credit card payments from customers of your business. Other methods of payment that I learned about are cryptocurrency and getting paid in cash which both have their pros and cons. Lastly, I started learning about the prerequisites needed in order to get employed. I started making my LinkedIn profile and learned more about resumes and I hope to continue expanding my knowledge of employment tomorrow.
