At Techie Youth, on Saturday I watched more videos on coding in Java and Python. To my surprise, it is not similar as I expected although not completely different. I plan to keep on working in coding and more in the future and learn more about different languages.
At Techie Youth, today, I looked at social media applications. I reviewed Facebook, one of the biggest social media platforms that has existed for many years, and how you can engage, or start your own Facebook groups and monetize them. This can be a way to meet new people, as well as engage with people with similar interest. This is also interesting as I would love to work for Facebook in the future.
At Techie Youth today, I continued to look and review Python and JavaScript. After reviewing Python introduction video and learning more about indexes, and more. I reached to play the games linked within the unit. The games focused on Python and JavaScript. It gave good insight on how the games worked and the programming behind it that allowed for the game’s function. I realize I have a lot more to learn about coding in order to be comparable.
Today at Techie Youth, I reviewed Wordpress and what it is. Wordpress, management system that is written in PHP paired with MySQL or MariaDB database with supported HTTPS. Wordpress provides template systems, known as Themes in Wordpress as well as plugins. I hope to understand this system better as I believe Wordpress can be or would be rather beneficial. I hope to develop more of my knowledge on WordPress.
Today, at Techie Youth I attempted to develop more of my Python coding knowledge. I watched 5 hours and took notes on the beginning of Python coding, learning more about lists, dictionaries, and many other things included in the Python coding language. Though I spent a lit of time, I still find that I must continue to relook and relearn more things that I am still confused on and do not understand the concept of.
Today at Techie Youth, I watched a long video on Adobe and the features that are instilled into the Adobe program. There are many things that I do not understand but I hope to learn more about editing and the cuts & pastes of it all.
Today, I looked at different types of coding. I have looked at Python, and the syntax of it. Today, I looked at coding in R and I learned more about syntax when coding in R, although I do not understand all of it yet.
For the past two days I have continued to educate myself on the programming language Python. I watched further in-depth videos on the programming language and learning more about basics of it such as lists, what they are and the purpose they can serve in coding.
Today, I learned more about Google’s organizational features. Along with Google Calendar that synchronizes with your phone, it allows for dates mentioned in emails to be added to your Google Calendar easier, and allows for better organization of what you have to do and what you can make your priorities. Google Calendar displays your tasks that you input on a calendar that make it easier to view & help you better plan your time & to see your obligations.
Today, I watched videos on video editing and the introduction and basics of what it is and the "rules" of video editing. I learned that video editing is the process of manipulating and rearranging video shots to create a new work. Video editing is used in most, if not all production we see in media, weather it be movies, or content created on social media apps. Editing is usually apart of the post production process, the process after recording the desired clips that are cut, color corrected, sound mixed, and more together to create a product for consuming.
Today at Techie Youth, I learned the very basics of stocks that I hope to develop further in the future. The basic concept of stocks is that stock trading involves buying and selling stocks frequently in hopes to stay in the market. The goal, short-term or long-term is to make profit on your original investment. There are different approaches to stocks and many trade on a short run or long run. Some are risky investors which expect faster profit returns while others are holds in hopes of return further on. There are many ways to invest through index funds, bonds, mutual funds, and more.
Google is non-arguably the biggest search engine used in today's generation, and with it being the biggest search engine, Google, has collected mass amounts of data that can be vital to market research. By going to Google's feature on trending searches, it gives insight on what consumers are looking for, or what is trending or not in media or to consumers. This helps companies decide what to develop or how to advertise to reach their desired audience or to reach the mass audience.
I looked at different ways to start your own business, and the legalities that would have to follow the legitimatization of a business. There are three different types of businesses, sole proprietorship, C-corporations, or S-Corporations. These three business types consist of different liabilities and function in different ways. Sole proprietorship means like the name, sole ownership, one person owns the business. This means that if there were to be financial struggles or other business struggles, all liabilities are on the hands of the one owner. The other corporations provide protections on their own personal property while sole proprietorship does not.
The working world seems very unfamiliar to me, but I was able to gain insight on an IOS developer's day and learn about their role, a possible career choice, but also learn more about their responsibilities and how their work day is structured which could be my future if I chose that career path.
Maximizing profits can be a big goal of most companies that start up. Though many companies start out with no profit margin, the eventual goal of a successful business is to make profit, starting small, and hopefully growing bigger.
I looked at web development, also known as website development. It is the tasks associated with creating, building, and maintaining websites and web applications that run online on a browser. Though that is most of web development, things like web design, web programming, and database management can be included in different roles that help fully create a functioning website. Languages used for front end is often HTML, CSS Profile, and JavaScript. CSS Profile helps design the website, as in the colors, font, font orientation, letter size, and much more.
3D model printing intrigued me since the development and bigger popularization of 3D printers that we saw develop in the past few years. This professor uses a software/program called blender where is able to manipulate the movement of his 3D designs. You are able to enlarge the figure, move it along the XYZ axis, rotate 360 degrees to get a full view of the projected image. This all helps with 2D design as you are able to change and manipulate the object before printing it.
