Today at Techie Youth today, I finished up the Video Editing portion of this course and learned how to adequately price, advertise and showcase my freelance editing work. I used websites such as Upwork and set up accounts across 3 other major freelance editing websites. Besides this, I binged several suggest YouTubers and their beginner videos in the slideshow and learned how to further increase the editing quality of my projects on Adobe Premiere Pro. I learned about rendering videos, hiding/muting tracks as well as adding effects to specific clips and/or splitting specific clips. After completing the video editing portion, I began the Stock section of this course and learned about different stock investment terms and the basics of investing from the likes of Warren Buffet. Overall, today has been very productive and I enjoyed the work!
Today at Techie Youth I had a bit of connection issues which led to most of my learning to be in the form of text and not video. I learned a lot about Video Editing, the various different forms of video editing and how to get started as a video editor. One of the things I learned about initially were the advantages that video editors garnered. Essentially, a video editor's work is mostly online and as such can be considered a digital nomad. This is a great advantage to the line of work as you can set your own hours and essentially be your own boss given that you complete work to obviously earn income. Another thing I learned was the copious amounts of detail that go into video editing and progressing as a video editor, such as cutting, transitioning, applying effects and much more. When my internet decided to work again, I was able to watch a few videos regarding these different effects and the programs that offered them. To finish up my day, I also completed the creation of my EIN. This step was quite tedious, contrary to the "easy" classification due to the many different documents they required which unfortunately I had to go digging to find. Luckily however, it was free and instant such as was mentioned. The main reason that I filed for this EIN was because I had read through the section and it stated that as a business-owner, in the case of my "company" being sued, none of my personal assets would be affected so long as it wasn't purchased using my company. There are several tax loopholes as well which ultimately end up saving me very much money, I hope to put this to use soon! That was all for today, I hope to learn tomorrow.
During my 4-hour shift today at Techie Youth, I focused on revisiting old topics in order to finish passing the previous quiz' that I hadn't scored passing marks on. The range of topics varied from Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Resume Building, Course Introduction, and Business Management.
During my 5-hour shift today at Techie Youth, I focused primarily on Entrepreneurship and Leadership as well as the many ways to begin, succeed and maintain success as an Entrepeneur. I watched videos regarding how to present myself as a leader, which attributes would allow me to become a strong leader, how to speak prolifically to an audience, as well as how to professionally engage my audience as a strong leader. I learned about Soft and Hard skills as well as saw the daily routines of many successful entrepreneurs.
Today, I continued learning about finance management and revisited the beginning introductory stages of this program. I was able to successfully open a Chime, Charles Schwabb and Paypal account as well as open an investment brokerage through Charles Schwabb. I created my own Crypto Wallet and learned how to accept credit card payments from customers for my future business. I learned about how to create an eye-catching Resume and formulate an eye-catching cover letter. I did some minor editing on my LinkedIn page and am hopeful for what awaits me tomorrow!
