Today I learned how i could earn income in many other different ways. I could earn income just by doing surveys and easy tasks. I could earn income from writing greet cards. I think this would be a great way for me to get income because I have nice handwriting. I had a nice and informative time at Techie Youth. Thank you for having me and enjoy the rest of your year.
I learned how to create a 3D printed object. I learned how to use packages to create them. I liked the tinkered one because its free online 3D modeling program that runs on a web browser. I watched a 6 part video to help me understand the basics of the app.
Being a music producer sounds very fun. If I was interested in that industry I would definitely try to pursue that career. You get to meet many music artists and you could make a pretty good amount of money for your work.
Today I learned what a web developer is. A web developer maintains and creates a website. They are in charge of all of the websites aspects and features. They use technologies like javascript and HTML to build the websites.
Today I learned that I could use apps that i normally use for school to be productive with my work. I could use apps such as google sheets to be productive. Google sheets is a way to create and format spreadsheets and work with other people. This is a way to keep track of data.
People make money off of making crafts and selling them through online stores. People could sell their crafts on websites such as Etsy and amazon. I think this is pretty cool and a fun way to make money. I don't think I would do it because I don't make crafts.
Today I learned how to earn an income from creating digital goods/electronic-merchandise. There are many different things to choose from when creating digital goods. If I were to make digital goods, I would make a video game. I'm not sure what kind of game I would make but I would make one for everyone to enjoy.
Today I went over any assignments and quizzes that needed revision. This is my last week at techie youth and then I will be back at school. I want to gain as much information as I can.
Stocks could be a good investment but you have to be aware of the risks. I would like to invest in a stock. If I were to invest in one I think it would be Apple because their company sells pretty good. I think I will invest in Apple once I turn 18 years old.
Today I learned about what a recruiter does. A recruiter finds candidates that are qualified for a job opening and works to meet the standards of both the employer and the employee through the hiring process. I think being a recruiter is an important job because you are helping the person that wants to be employed and also the person who is looking for more employees.
Today I learned about the requirements I need in order to have a job interview. I learned some skills on how I could stand out from the other candidates. I also know the steps of getting hired now.
Today I redid some of my previous assignments. There were some that needed revision, so that's what I worked on.
Today I learned about some reasons to work remotely. There are many opportunities and benefits that you can get from working remotely. I like the fact that I can work from home and I don't have to worry about rushing to a worksite. I also like how I could honestly work from anywhere with a wifi connection.
Today I made an AD telling others my experience at Techie Youth. I told others how helpful Techie Youth and how they want to make a change for young adults. I also told them to use Techie Youth if they're in need of tips and help for starting career.
Having a remote job could be a hard task but a fun one. To be able to do this job you need some important skills. Communication, productivity, and having good time management skills. Also, you need to avoid any type of conflicts that may affect your job.
Today I learned how to identify some of the tactics that scammer use. I want to try to avoid being scammed at all costs. I remember when I was looking for my dog to buy my mom found a website and it was 2 dogs for $500. I told her to let me look into it and turns out that it was a scam website. I was so happy that I researched before she sent anything.
Today I learned that AI are machines that mimic humans to do tasks. Robots are an example of AI. Robots are cool to have around and helpful. I think they're cool but scary because they are helpful and we could fall back with doing our tasks but its scary how smart they are. I feel like these type of machines will be in control of the future.
I made my portfolio on Monday but I wasn't sure if I had did it right. The people at techie youth told me that I had to make improvements. Today I worked on it and I think it looks way better than before.
Today I made a list of things I need to do to improve my quality of life. There is many thing that I need to work on such as time management. I think working on these skills will help me during my senior year of high school and my next job.
Today I made my own portfolio. I'm not sure if I did it right but I tried my best. A portfolio is important because it helps other people to know your skills so you could help them. My skills are helping with softwares and things like that.
Today I learned what kind of fundraisers there are. I learned what they do and how to become one. I think being a fundraiser could be a good thing for yourself and the community. Helping others who are in need is a positive thing and I think everyone should try to participate in hosting fundraisers.
Video editing seems like a lot of fun. When editing you can use different effects, put words on the video, and put music over the video. I would be interested in doing video editing for people, like YouTubers. Video editing does take some skill and you can get paid a nice amount of income for this job. If I were to become a video editor I don't think I will film my own videos but I will edit other peoples.
Today I read about virtual assistants. This was interesting to me because I could see myself being one. Working from home seems better than going out everyday to work. I learned about the skills they need to have and the different types of work they do.
Today I learned about app development and what it takes to make an app. You have to have a lot of computer skill. If i were to make an app I would make a app to locate different bathrooms around new york city. This would be a very helpful app for everyone, especially tourists.
Today I had a lesson on music production. Im not very interested in being a music producer but, this lesson had a lot of interesting information about music production. I think Leo Moracchioli is a very talented person. How he made a cover song and a music video in five days was amazing.
Today I learned how I could use my social media platforms to promote my business and how to make a business out of them. I didn't know you could get paid on these specific apps and that was very informative. I will use this in the future.
Today I learned how to promote my business on social media. This was very helpful because I already have a instagram page for it but, I want to expand my business on other websites.
Today I made a LinkedIn account because I didn't have one before. I also made a cover letter. I didn't know that a cover letter was an important thing when you're looking for a job. I struggled at first with it but I think I did pretty well after all.
Today I learned about creating technological products. I would like to make a 3D printed product one day. I also learned about inventory planning and pricing. I learned about which websites to sell your products on. That was helpful because one day I will expand my business and I'll consider using Etsy. The best part was creating our own product at the end.
