I learned about the benefits of remote work such as being able to do things on my terms and more flexibly, thus increasing productivity. I also learned about some drawbacks like a weak connection with colleagues, but I also learned how to alleviate such problems by doing things like having virtual meetings or even an in-person meeting in a place fit for work. I also learned about the things I should look out for when applying for a job such as red flags that may warn me about scams. I also learned that there are online websites that would help me remotely be part of a community. I also learned how to manage my money along with many tips that could help me cut down on expenses.
I created my own LinkedIn profile and was matched to a couple of jobs that I found really attractive. I also discovered many other websites with all sorts of jobs. I also made my own resume and cover letter. I never knew cover letters were a thing. I used the many do's of applying to jobs in order to make my resume and cover letter as well as I believe I could have possible made, so I'm proud of those. I also learned some don'ts of getting employed like not taking care of your public image. I created accounts on social medias I've never used and I plan on curating those toward an image of me that I would like my social media to represent.
I learned the different ways of getting paid like using checking accounts or spending accounts. Also, I learned about the different ways an employer may pay employees, such as through cash, a check, a PayPal account, or even through cryptocurrency.
