Today at Techie Youth I learned of the 7 Laws of Film Editing. One being that you should watch every frame of raw footage twice to really get a good feel of the film and to observe what type of cuts and editing each frame needs since each film is unique. Also, I learned that it is very important to be really organized as a film editor that way you're always able to find any shot instantly.
I learned today that there is actually a lot more to Video Editing than I thought like reaction shots, cuts, transitions, sound mixing, color grading and J + L cuts. A J cut is when the audio from the following scene plays over video from the previous scene while an L cut is when audio from the previous scene continues to play over the following scene.
