Final Day - Reminiscing about Techie Youth

Today, I started my day by reviewing my performance and the assignments that I had submitted. Luckily, these tasks were approved. For the last few hours, I looked through the immediate income unit and the survey subject.

As this is my final week and now day, I reminisce about my time at Techie Youth. Initially, it wasn't what I was expecting. My original thoughts were geared to thinking the program would be like classes about a subject or subjects.

Techie Youth gave me an independent learning experience that I haven't experienced. The program taught units about skills, methods, and occupations so one could become financially independent. An interesting concept that had me content with where I was placed nonetheless.

Though I had struggled, I learned and improved myself. And though I had trouble with some of my assignments due to my lack of ingenuity in the subjects I've chosen, I completed them in the end. To grow, I had to get out of my comfort zone to learn things I wasn't well versed in, like the units I chose, entrepreneurship, and product management.

Ultimately, Techie Youth gave me an experience and program that taught me essential skills and methods in the working world.

Finally, I have one last thing to write out. Thank you very much, Techie Youth

Working on Entrepreneurship/Product Management Assignment - Day 6

Today, I started my day off with a need for revision for my entrepreneurship assignment. After getting some feedback, I added a few things that I had missed previously and then resubmitted it. Afterward, I focused on the product management assignment. I completed it, with my suggestion being about expanding the Learn to E-Earn program to broader job topics like the medical field, education, and other opportunities in college.

As tomorrow will be my last day, I hope that these will be satisfactory and that I can graduate from this program.

Working on Entrepreneurship/Product Management Assignment - Day 5

Today, I completed the Entrepreneurship Assignment, it wasn't the absolute best and quite rough, but I believe it's satisfactory for me to a degree compared to my previous version. For the assignment, I pitched an idea for a tutoring service called "Learning Tutors," which offers an opportunity for amateur tutors to gain a platform and earn money for themselves.

Once I finished that assignment, I continued doing the Product Strategy assignment, also making substantial progress there. Now, I'm hoping that I'll be able to complete the project before the end of the week, as this will be my last week to be in this program.

Working on Entrepreneurship Assignment - Day 4

Today, I focused heavily on the Entrepreneurship Assignment as I thought it wasn't adequate to pass. I used my previous version to then, help me template my next one, as well as help me to revise a few aspects of this new version. Currently, I am about 75% complete with the latest version, and by tomorrow, truthfully hoping that I can finish it by then.

Working on Entrepreneurship/Product Management Assignments - Day 3

I continued with what I left off with last week, the two assignments I have been working on. However, I mainly made steady progress with the Entrepreneur assignment as the Product Management task has me in disorder. I am having a bit of a hard time applying the skills, outlines, and templates that I've learned. Nonetheless, the struggle itself could be considered a learning experience.

By tomorrow, I hope to complete the Entrepreneur assignment and make better progress with the Product Management assignment.

Working on Entrepreneurship/Product Management Assignments - Day 2

Today, I continued doing the assignments for the two units. I had looked up multiple examples for both product strategy and executive summaries. I had made steady progress overall but haven't quite finished the assignments. Although there might be many revisions, or I might have to start over altogether, I hope to complete these two tasks by early next week.

Generally, this is a good experience for me as I'm learning about my limits in this field and trying to improve these skills through practice and work experience.

Brainstorming ideas + Working on Entrepreneurship/Product Management Assignments

Today, I had mainly tried to think up ideas for both of these assignments and brainstorm ideas to use in these tasks. I looked up some outlines for product strategies to use in the product management assignment and reviewed the content from the unit to further assist me in my endeavor.

Ultimately, I might opt to focus on a tutoring service for the entrepreneurship assignment. At the same time, for the product management project, an expansion of Techie Youth's Learn to E-Earn in which we list more general areas for work, like Medicine, Education, Law, etc. Giving outlines/summaries for participants to learn about jobs, from the general to the lesser known in these fields.

Learning About Product Management - Day 3

Today, I resumed reviewing the contents of Product Management, finishing the content with "Communication and Storytelling" and finally "Employment."

The former is self-explanatory in its contents, where it details active listening, how one can use storytelling as a skill to persuade, and other miscellaneous social skills.

The latter gave me an outline of employment, which includes the salary, how to get hired, and the remote work involved in this profession.

Learning About Product Management - Day 2

Today, I continued looking at the product management unit and its subtopics about "Product Planning," "Product Development," and "Analytics and Measuring Success."

These gave me information regarding the process of making a product, mainly the first and second. Learning about roadmaps, backlogs, and strategies, how to use them, and when to use them in the timeline of events leading up to launch.

I've also learned about the stages of product development, more about MVP (Minimal Viable Product), wireframes, quality assurance, and an extensive article about prioritization frameworks from the second subject.

Finally, I looked at the analytics subtopic, which reviewed how well ideas must fit to make an overall viable product, the overarching analytics involved, and what KPIs are (Key Performance Indicators).

Learning About Product Management + Entrepreneurship Assignment

With a need for more work, so I could brainstorm ideas for the Entrepreneurship assignment in the background, I decided to look at the other elective units. Where in which I picked the product management unit. This is so I can both brainstorm ideas with a topic of the product while simultaneously working on the unit at hand, essentially killing two birds with one stone.

While reviewing, I learned multiple skills required to be a product manager, what they do, their daily schedule, and their roles in surveys, usability tests, and interviews.

Writing + Entrepreneurship Assignment

Today, I focused on doing the assignments given at the end of the Writing and Entrepreneurship units. I finished the writing assignment, in which I made a synopsis of what Techie Youth's Learn to E-Earn is like its open system in which participants can choose and learn what they want, and my experience on my account on LinkedIn. However, for the entrepreneurship assignment, I'm having a bit of trouble regarding the product or service. I have a few ideas, but I have only put down some of my resources in my executive summary.

Learning about Entrepreneurship - Day 5 + Writing + Entrepreneurship Assignment

I started my day by working on the assignment for the writing unit for close to 2 hours, in which I am doing a blog. Next, I continued reviewing the Entrepreneurship unit content, learning about socializing techniques concerning sales or employees, whether hiring, overall work, or firing. With all of this done, I then focused on doing the assignments for the writing and the entrepreneurship units.

Though having trouble figuring out the technicalities for the latter assignment as I don't know about my resources or the product/service that I'll be providing

Learning about Entrepreneurship - Day 4

Today's subtopics consisted of "Financing," "Creating Your Product," and "Getting Sales/Clients." Both the first and the third subjects discussed negotiation, whether it be investors or clientele, and what methods/tips to use to further get profit/funding.

"Financing" and "Creating Your Product" also analyzed the topic of profit when it comes to business and how to sustain/calculate their business' profitability.

Tue. Jul. 26, 2022

Learning about Entrepreneurship - Day 3

Today consisted only of the entrepreneurship unit, with me learning about the deployment of one's company, with such subtopics being "How to Set Up a Legal Entity" along with "Branding."

The former lets me figure out the actual methods and prerequisites to start one's business and whether one will do it alone or with a partner.

The latter subject gave a very in-depth analysis of branding, from the slogans, mission statements, and logos to the company's actual name, along with info regarding how to build a website, most notably Wix, and copyright laws.

Learning about Entrepreneurship + Writing Assignment Day 2

Today, I kept on reviewing the entrepreneurship unit and its subtopics, "Profit Models and Revenue Streams," "Customer Market," "Contingency Planning," "Cofounders," "Partnerships," and finally, "Exit Strategy." A few hours prior, though, I continued a bit with doing the writing assignment making steady progress with my blog.

In the first subject, I learned about the multiple ways for one to earn revenue/profit, along with how to manage one or more of these income streams.

For the next one, "Customer Market," I had a tough time with the quiz; however, I eventually understood the topic and how competition can be beneficial. Also, learning about satisfying both customers and investors, along with the value of a company.

The next topic discussed contingency plans in case of unexpected events that could be detrimental to one's business.

The following two gave me insight regarding making relations with other people when doing business and how to deal with/negotiate with others.

Finally, I learned about exit strategies and how one can end their business, not for failure, but profit, mainly by selling the business to another company.

Learning about Entrepreneurship + Writing Assignment

Today, I finished reviewing the content in the writing unit and started to do the assignment for the unit. However, before doing it, I quickly looked at the unit "Entrepreneurship and Leadership," where to start when making a business, as well as reviewing the subject, "Business Models," which taught me the basics of business models, how the most prominent companies are successful, and what to learn from them.

For the writing assignment, I have opted to make a blog, but currently, I am only focusing on creating a draft. Right now, I don't concretely know where to put my blog as I am trying to choose between either LinkedIn or Wix. The former is an option because I have an established account, and one can reference the blog if one sees it.

Learning About Writing - Day 4

Today continued the same unit from the past few days, writing. I had begun and finished four subjects from this unit, "Customer Service and Correspondence," "Technical Writing," "Transcription," and "Grant Writing."

The first subtopic gave me an apprehension regarding etiquette and tone of text when servicing others that need support, along with the soft skills required like empathy and patience.

The second subtopic made me learn about the very detailed and analytical aspect of writing. It gives me insight into how creativity isn't always required for writing jobs.

"Transcription" gave me multiple resources for ease of use for transcribing and a general laydown of the speed and accuracy needed for the job.

Finally, "Grant Writing" had me learn about the general proposals that go out to fund projects, the steps needed, and the required items to be listed.

Learning About Writing - Day 3

Today, I learned three subjects from the writing unit, "Guest Blogging," "Ghostwriting," and finally, "SEO Backlink Content." The topics gave me general ideas of sources of income/career options.

Guest blogging is, first and foremost, a way to grow one's audience and collaborate/associate oneself with a more popular blogger. One would not only be able to benefit from a boost in the audience but able to establish a small source of income as well.

Ghostwriting gave me insight into how one gets hired for a job like this while also giving me general tips for writing.

Finally, I learned about SEO backlinks which I didn't know anything about prior. It made me understand the algorithm that is used to search for people, how one can use keywords to broaden their audience, and how to be paid through the creation of blog posts and backlinks,

Learning About Writing - Day 2

My plan for today consisted of continuing the unit that I had started yesterday. I then finished up the subtopic of "Books, Published and Self-Published" from yesterday while also checking and finishing two other subjects, "Copywriting" and "Blogging and Writing for Your Own Website."

Copywriting was an interesting subject matter as I didn't know the title/job that was involved with advertising, brand awareness, etc. I initially was confused a bit with the subject matter, mistaking it for copyrighting, but got to understand the terms and ways to write to persuade others into taking action.

On the matter of blogging, I learned interesting facts and different types of blogging that I didn't know before, thinking that it wasn't as deep to understand. I learned how one gets their revenue through this method, along with the sites that could help one start their own blog.

Learning About Writing

Today, I went onto a new unit, the one that details writing. I had invested time into two subtopics, "Magazines and Journals" and "Books, Published and Self-Published." I had a very clear interest in these two subtopics, mainly the latter, as I have an aspiration to write my own and publish a novel one day.

Within the former subject, I learned about the industry, being a freelance writer, or working with a company directly. Also, learning about the topics that are typically trending and read.

For the latter, I learned a lot regarding publishing my own book, whether to self-publish or work in partnership with a company, needing an agent to help, a book proposal to go along with it and general tips for writing my novel.

Finishing the Introductory Units - Day 2

I continued on my set endeavor these past few days to complete the last parts of the introductory units, with today possibly being my last as I had finished looking at the last bit of content. I also finished up one of the assignments I put on hold for a bit, the cover letter, resume, and LinkedIn profile being the last things that needed to be done. I had learned quite a bit while writing my resume and cover letter, trying to sound persuasive and confident without sounding condescending or prideful of one's abilities.

Finally, I checked the possible elective units I can gain credit from with a definite look at the writing unit.

Thu. Jul. 14, 2022

Finishing the Introductory Units

I continued with my schedule to finish up and see what I had missed in the introductory units. With this in mind, I try to give a more in-depth analysis of what I'm reading so I can critically think, better absorb the knowledge, and better remember it.

Amongst the articles I had missed, there was one from the jet setter subtopic in the life quality unit that gave an extensive list of opportunities possible by living that lifestyle.

Intro to Techie Youth - Day 5

Today, I continued on my previous endeavor to finish up and review the content I had missed. This would include multiple articles, videos, and the like that I had missed or didn't watch/read long enough on.

With this in mind, I tried to look more in-depth at the content I am currently absorbing.

Tue. Jul. 12, 2022

Intro to Techie Youth - Day 4

On today's agenda, I had planned to review the content that I had missed in some sections of the intro. This would include links to the list of many sites that help with remote employment. I looked at each website for about 3-5 minutes minimum and continued to the last subtopic, which I briefly looked at yesterday, "Networking with people."

Learning about the different sites that help me build my connections and the events that help with it.

Lastly, I worked on some assignments I had missed, the resume, cover page, and LinkedIn account, as well as making social media accounts.

Mon. Jul. 11, 2022

Intro to Techie Youth - Day 3

Today's agenda consisted of where I had left off last week, the intro to Techie Youth. This time around, I had begun to complete and review the last three subtopics that are in this unit, "How to successfully work a remote job," "Beware of scams," and briefly looking at "Networking with people."

The first subtopic gave me insight on how to consistently work remotely, the tips, the preferred work environment, and the common etiquette to show during meetings.

Afterward, I looked at the other subject regarding scams, their signs, who they target, and how to avoid them.

Finally, I momentarily looked at the networking subtopic, explaining how to make strategic contacts, what to say, and how to leave a conservation that I don't want to be in.

Fri. Jul. 8, 2022

Intro to Techie Youth - Day 2

On today's agenda, I resumed the intro to Techie Youth unit, with the subtopics I reviewed today being "Prerequisites to getting employed," "Your public image," "Social Media," "Searching for remote employment opportunities," and "Mastering the job interview & getting hired."

I learned about how my professional, but also my personal image may affect my job, interviews, and offers. The multitude of sites that provide job opportunities online. In the final part of today, I learned about how to practice for job interviews, what to say during them, and how to negotiate.

Learning about Life Quality - Day 3 + Intro to Techie Youth

In today's learning endeavor, I continued the final parts of the introductory unit about quality of life, being taught about role models and mentors, and how to establish a relationship with one. Within the quality of life unit, I had also listed the areas that I would like to work on, finding a mentor/role model, stress management, and health management. Afterward, I looked at the other introductory unit, letting me digest the knowledge of what my profile should be on LinkedIn (which I have now briefly started), the multiple ways to get paid, the plethora of apps and banks that manage my money, and the basics of working remotely.

Wed. Jul. 6, 2022

Learning About Life Quality - Day 2

Today, I continued the introductory unit focused on quality of life. I had finished reviewing the content in the subtopic regarding financial awareness and management as well as looking at three other sections provided "Time Management", "Health and Productivity", and "Stress Management".

I learned about the time I could potentially be saving in my day-to-day life and planning my schedule.

In "Health and Productivity" I was taught tips, told about the benefits, and how to handle both my physical and mental health to maximize efficiency.

Finally in "Stress Management" I learnt how to deal with stress, but also how to avoid it, and be confident about both my work and myself.

Learning About Life Quality

Today, I learned about a few topics that are among the subjects brought up in one of Techie Youth's introductory units. Today's unit was primarily focused on quality of life with two subtopics, "financial awareness and financial management" and "earning income by living a jet-setter lifestyle." I had first looked at the latter of the subtopics that I listed, and it gave me an in-depth analysis of the benefits, tips, and drawbacks to online working and living life through travel. Learning about digital nomads, tips about hitchhiking, if the virtual lifestyle is suitable for me, and if traveling on top of that would also suit me.

For the second half of what I learned today, I looked at the former of the subtopics I had listed, giving me sound advice about the inner workings of finance, investments, savings, and buying and reselling items. Learning about unnecessary things to buy, how to save my money, and how to generate a steady income in the background.
