Today in Techie Youth I began to learn about niche websites. Niche websites is a site that focuses on a very specific subset of a broader market with the purpose of monetizing its traffic. So basically you take a small segment of a large market and focus on that specific interest. this allows you to target and cater to smaller areas that are not always addressed in large markets. I personally like the idea of niche websites because it gives you a sense of the long-term view in it is still profitable. niche sites generate their money through ads marketing or digital products etc.
Today in Techie Youth, I learned about clothing and how you can design any type of way as long as you put your mind to it. Everyone in this world has their own unique style and with clothes, you can spice it up however you like. I, personally, love the idea of fashion because it gives you a sense of creativity. You are able to imagine the look that you want to put out there and make it happen. You don’t have to worry about anyone telling you what to do because you make the decisions. Designing is fun as well as you are able to play around with materials and really see what you want to do. That is why I love fashion and how different it is.
Today in Techie Youth, I learned about Adobe Illustrator. It is a graphic designing company that lets you create / illustrate anything you imagine. It gives you time to customize whatever you want in the process. you are able to create things like logos, icon, graphics illustrations, etc. you can also create images and graphics with points lines, shapes and curves. The things that come to your imagination will soon become reality using Adobe Illustrator. I personally like the graphic design application because you can do anything you put your mind to.
On Monday..at Techie Youth I learned about 3D printing. I was told that it has fixed per-unit costs so in order to make money off of it, you’ll need to sell the objects you make for a higher amount than you bought it for. So for example, if you bought a material for $5..sell your objects for more than that to really make a profit. I wasn’t online too long this day, but with what I did learn...I really took it in. If i wanted to do 3D printing, then i could because I learned here at Techie Youth.
On Tuesday..at Techie Youth I continued my learning on 3D printing. I watched several videos and read articles to really get an understanding of what it is, how it works, how you make money, etc. It was really informational and inspiring. Printing is expensive so the products that you make are going to be high prices in order for you to get the money back that you spent..plus more! Customization, selling already made items, making trendy objects, etc. can all boost your profit. Technology also plays a big part in the creation of 3D printing, but it can sometimes fail / malfunction. So, always have a backup plan in case a print gets lost, destroyed, or wasted.
On Wednesday...at Techie Youth I finished up learning about 3D printing, but I also learned about Laser cut products. Laser Cutting is a laser being used to precisely cut out shapes from various materials. You typically would get an inexpensive material to start with, then adding glue or adhesive to create 3D objects using 2D laser-cut parts. It was very interesting seeing how it all works, the way people do laser cutting, how you really have to focus in order to cut out the specific shapes, etc. Since laser cutters are very precise / detailed, it is usually made for small items..that are expensive. The person doing the laser cutting does all the hard work, then sells it for a high price in order to make a profit for their time and dedication to the project. I find the whole thing intriguing and interesting.
On Thursday..at Techie Youth I continued my learning on Laser Cutting, but also began to learn about robotic products. Those are functional objects that can be interacted with physically and are powered by custom electronics. I learned about electronic engineering, becoming an electronic engineer, and the basics of it all. I was quite interested in learning how people make robotic products because it is basically a programmable microcontroller. They monitor many inputs and then determine what it should output based on the information it receives. I found it cool because somebody has the brains to program the robotic products and make it work. They create a functional product or create a kit for hobbyists, and more. Whatever it is that they decide to make...can be sold. I think that is a very good thing, because they spend their time making the robot and have the option to sell it for money. The person doesn’t have to sell it, but if they want to make money using their creation, then at least they have the option to do so. Robotic Products was definitely one of the sections that kept me really interested this week.
Today (which is Friday), I started the section about retrofitting electronic products and what that is. Technology is something that is constantly being updated and fixed, so the older versions are no longer important or useful to the world. Those products or devices then become trash since majority of the population cannot use them how they used to anymore. But with retrofitting, you restore / fix the items, so that it is then new, useful and helpful to the world.
Today at Techie youth, I learned about other types of trading markets that include Forex, REITs, trading options as well as commodities. As with any type of trading securities, there are rewards (making a profit) and risks (taking a loss). The important thing is to research what the different options are, review the pros and cons and analyze all possibilities before making an investment. With investments, there is a chance of making money or losing money and having the mental capacity to deal with whatever happens takes faith as well as strength.
today I learned about Blockchains. I was taught that they are blocks that contain lots of information, whether it be about documents, or money, or property, etc. The purpose of a Blockchain is to solve the double records problem without the need for a central server. this means that you will be able to put a specific time on digital documents so that nothing can invalidate them. it is quite interesting how the Internet works. using a Blockchain can allow you to transfer multiple things without requiring a bank or government. once the data is recorded inside of Blockchain it is very difficult to change it. that is a good thing because it means your information will not be tampered with or destroyed. Technology has come a long way and blockchains are very useful.
Cryptocurrency is something that is actively traded...24 hours a day. That is where they differ from stocks, because they don’t do after-hour trading. Stocks are purchased in increments while cryptocurrencies are purchased in fractions of a coin. For example, bitcoin, coinbase, etc. Crypto is also way more unregulated than stocks which make it even more riskier. Investing in crypto can either make or break how much money you will make. It is more lucrative than investing in stocks because that way..you are only making money if they company you invest in is making money. Stocks is a win or lose, you win if the company succeeds and when they do bad? You lose! It all depends on what you want to do weather you invest in cryptocurrency or stocks. Owning a stock makes you a shareholder of the specific company, while cryptocurrencies have no company. Whether you decide to trade cryptocurrencies or stocks, you will make a profit but whichever you choose has its pros and cons
Today in Techie Youth, I learned about stocks. I was taught that investing money into stocks has its pros and cons. you can either make a lot of money by investing or you can lose a lot of money. it all depends on the business you are investing in and how they are doing. taking your time and choosing whether or not you want to invest is very important and should be thought about thoroughly.
Today I learned about branding and commercial property. If you have a vision, you can turn it into something bigger as well. Selling products can become very ludicrous with the right audience buying it and remaining loyal to you. That is why you have to be strategic and think thoroughly about what you want to sell and who you would like to sell the products to. Commercial property has to do with generating a profit too, you always want to have some sort of income. The information I learned today taught me that it is important to sometimes be quiet about the goals you have in life. Every action does not deserve a reaction because in the end you will be successful.
Today I learned about profit models and how they will help you out in the long run. If you have a business, you should look into a profit models...this will be your plan that could / should make your business profitable and more worldwide. It gives you the layout for what you need to do for your business in order for you to be successful and not fail so quickly. Everyone wants to be wealthy and able to express themselves freely, so creating a profit model will definitely help you out!
Today I learned about being an entrepreneur and how I have the power to create change in this world. Doing this unit taught me about business leadership and being able to use different skills to be better. I want to be able to, soon, earn money on my own without having to work for somebody...I will work for myself. Having my own business will help with my entrepreneurship and my leadership roles as well.
Today in Techie Youth, I learned about remote working. It is interesting how the dynamics of how people work has changed over the years. The idea of remote working is awesome because it allows people to have more of work/life balance as well as those who like to travel but still want to be able to make money. Remote work is unique as gives people freedom to not be stuck at a desk for hours at a time but be home as well as travel.
