Today I learned about technical writing, transcription, and photography. Technical writing is basically making difficult to understand company info easily understandable to clients and consumers. Transcription is basically data entry, which requires a fast WPM in order to be efficient. Photography is all about lining up the right shot, and fighting with other photographers to provide the best photos on the market.
Today I learned about a few of the different types of writing and the roles that take place in each of them. I learned about the passion of a magazine writer, how to self-publish your own book, the importance of a copywriter, and even what a ghost writer is. Ghostwriters are paid to write books under someone else's name, which I didn't even know was a profession. I started a rough draft for the writing assignment about my experience with Techie Youth, and after peer editing and revisions, I'm considering publishing it on a blog.
Today I learned how to create a new type of digital product - art. I learned how to use various digital drawing platforms, but the 3 hour tutorial was considered "away" time, for whatever reason.
Today, I learned how to create robotic products using Raspberry Pis and Arduinos. I've seen them many times online, but never understood how they work. Now, I not only know how they work, but how to use them!
Today, I finished learning how to produce products with 3D printing, and began to learn how to create goods through laser cutting.
Today was my second day learning how to create 3D Printed Products. I learned the basics of how to create on Blender, AutoCad, and AutoDesk Meshmixer.
I forgot to log what I did on Friday, July 8th, 2022 - it was basically more entrepreneur stuff, about money management and company structure. Today, I finished learning about entrepreneurship with how to lay off or terminate someone from the company. I also started learning how to create 3D printed products via TinkerCad
Today was my second day learning all about entrepreneurship, and my third day here at Techie Youth. The information I am receiving is very helpful what to do, what not to do, and things that are absolutely required in order to succeed as an entrepreneur.
Today, I started to learn about the details of what it means to be an entrepreneur. I had taken business class in middle school, so I had a vague idea, but the videos and articles really helped me flesh out the role in society known as "entrepreneur". Calculated risks, ideas, and connections are just some of the major aspects that entrepreneurs require to be successful.
Today was my first day at Techie Youth. It's a new experience, so I decided it would be best to take it slow, and figure out how everything works. After clicking around for a bit, I noticed the YouTube videos, the articles, and the assignments. A few didn't appeal to me too much, but I'll try not to shy away from something I'm uncomfortable with. I know what I'm going to do for the next three weeks here - learn about making money online, and maybe even trying out a few of the assignments. Some of them bring me out of my comfort zone - I don't like socializing with people, but I am incredibly grateful to SYEP for giving me this opportunity, and I intend to try to make the most of it, even if I do have SAT prep literally an hour after the 8-1 time.
