Techie youth: Financial awareness & financial management

I have learned today at techie youth class

The vast majority of people have no idea how much they pay in espenses and how much money they actually earn at the end of each work day after accounting for expenses.

1. NET INCOME: To estimate your true net salary you need to also account for the cost of transportation to and from work as well as all other necessary expenses incurred for your job, such as required clothing or uniform. there are many online tools that can calculate your net salary for the USA,some include.

2.COST OF LIVING: To estimate your daily costs of living which is largely dependent on the city that you are currently living in. since the cost of living differs between countries and cities, if you work remotely, you might consider relocating to a location with lower cost-of-living, while earning an income online from companies /clients in affluent geographies.

3. BUDGETING: one of the best ways to improve your financial management skills is to create your own personal budget. budgeting allows you to create a spending plan for your money, it aims to ensure that your will always have enough money for both necessities and things that are important to you.

Techie youth: Networking with other people

what I have learned today at techie youth class.

In an often quoted sentence“its not what you know ;it's who you know ”this reference the importance of personal connections to advance your career, sometimes even more important than your actual knowledge of that field.

1. MEETUP EVENTS AND CONFERENCES. if you are in a location that permit unrestricted large gatherings, then conference and meetups maybe the quickest path to making a lot of professional connections in a person within a very short time frame.

2.VIRTUAL EVENTS: virtual conferences and events lack the society dynamic and comradery of in-real-life events, but most also offer the advantage of having easy access to see all the attendees as well as research their credentials and initiate communication with whomever would be a strategic contact.

Techie youth: Beware of scams

1. Always read the fine print on every opportunity before you sign up,provide any personal information or pay anything .Always check who is the company or person behind the opportunity.

2. if it sounds “too good to be true ” then it is potentially a scam. Always analyze what is the motivation of the other person/ company to provide this opportunity, and if that Motivation seems honest.

3.if a job is advertised as providing much greater salary than is common for that role then it is likely a scam. because an employee would never want to pay more than necessary to employ someone who would have otherwise accepted the same job for the money.

public image what I understand about public image is Employers will often check your social media because when hiring you they will check your social network in other to know the type of person there hiring, they will see if you have posted anything controversial or something they don't want to be associated with.

there are 4 things Employers look for when they Google you.

1. A professional headshot when ever possible, employers want to know that their applicants look like, make sure you have a professional photos of you on your online network and website so Employers can see you.

2. your online portfolio :the next thing Employers want to find out is how much of your work and accomplishments can be found online. an online portfolio is a great way to showcase what you've displayed on your resume and build credibility for yourself as a job-seeker.

3. the size of your digital footprint: Employers also want to know how you present yourself and interact with others online.
