My overall thoughts on the program is that it was easy to be able to work and be able to do other responsibilities I had to do while still be able to work. The pros is that I think techie youth helps with teaching people the necessity of having people skills to get a job and the different dynamics of being an entrepreneur. The cons is that some assignments I just could not understand. Another con is that I wished for the quiz it would show which ones you got right and which ones were wrong which was difficult because even if you needed one more answer or one less answer you would still fail the whole quiz. I am glad I was able to work with techie youth this summer and hopefully since I now have the hang of the program next summer I’ll be able to comprehend and get a better grasp of what to complete.
Today was a slow day it was mostly just long video and articles about robotic products and how to also make diy electronics which was interesting. Today lesson did not peak my interest as much as other products have but I’m hoping tomorrow I can end the week and program strong with a topic that will be a bit more engaging.
Today was not much of the lesson. There was some knowledge that I was able to grasp with get to learn about Laser cut products which is also with the lesson of craft. I was able to continue to finish up 3D printed products lessons but tomorrow ready to look more into Laser cut products.
Today I continued to learn more about 3D printed products but was able to touch more in depth within the topic which I was able to learn about Solidworks which is a software that can be used for planning, visual ideation, modeling and etc. I was also able to learn about Autodesk Meshmixer which is used for art and game development in certain fields. Today it was more about getting more knowledge and dig deeper on what types of 3D printed products can be designed.
Today, I watched a few videos regarding 3D printed products. I was able to learn about how to create a profit you will need to be able to sell whatever objects that you make for more than your costs. I was watching videos that demonstrated to me different packages used to create 3D objects. I would like to figure out how to check my credit or where I am at to get the necessary completion for working with techie youth to finish off strong for this last week.
In today's lesson I was able to get into recruiter and talent acquisition which I was able to get in depth knowledge about the fundamentals of being a recruiter. The different fundamentals of how a recruiter goes into looking for something or someone for a job. I did want to be able to finish a couple of quizzes I was not able to, which I will get around to next week being that it is going to be the last week. Therefore, it would be great to finish up a few quizzes and assignments for lessons that still need to be completed.
I continued to work on digital good quizzes which there was about two quizzes that I was having a bit of trouble with that I will try to work on tomorrow. Therefore, I moved on to stocks and was able to learn a little more about how cryptocurrency and blockchain go hand in hand since cryptocurrency is fueled by blockchain technology. I am hoping to touch more on base with the lesson of stocks and complete the quizzes that are left in that section and two I had trouble with today.
Today, I was able to touch back into the lesson of digital goods. I was able to learn about how to sell digital assets like e books or stock photos. I was really interested in stock photos because it can be sold in many forms like video clips, 3D objects, sound effects, music, audio-books as well as other forms of media therefore it is a more in depth type of digital assets which peeked my interest. I was also able to learn about how to advertise digital assets which helped give me more knowledge from the social media lesson which shows how some of the lessons go hand in hand which is really helpful.
As we head into the last two weeks of this job, I am trying to complete the proper requirements to be able to get my certification. The only issue I have been having is that I get to a certain percentage and watch videos to complete my assignments but by the next day I have to rematch the videos because the check marks have gone away and my progress goes back to as if it was not complete.
Today I was trying to worrying about finishing quizzes and reviewing assignments I missed so I can get on track to make sure I have all the required things for graduation.
I did a continuation of social media and setting up virtual meetings. I was able to learn about how to advertise and sell a product using sources like Etsy which is very familiar to a lot of people. I learned how to go about making a sale for a product. I started getting into web development and learning a bit about that aspect of things. At the beginning of the day I was having a bit of trouble with my internet but I worked it out and was able to still learn a lot today.
I was able to how to run social media in a professional manner. I am so use to seeing how social media is functioned on a normal day to day basis but for personal usage. Today, I was able to learn more in depth how to apply normal day to day basis apps into a professional business. I was also able to start getting into doing virtual meetings. Tomorrow I will be able to get more in depth about how to smoothly have virtual meetings.
I was able to learn about productivity apps. I was able to learn how google outlets like google drive, google docs, google sheets and etc can help with organization and help with navigating a business to be neat. It was interesting to learn how apps that are almost every day in school can be transferred over to how it can help in a business. I was shown more in depth of how the different google outlets can help when you want things to remain organized in any sense.
Today, I learned about the different aspects between magazines and journals. I was able to understand what writers put into each to be able to differentiate what makes a magazine a magazine and what makes journals a journal. I learned about the steps of being able to publish a book and the different resources accessible to be able to get a book published. The last thing I was able to learn was copywriting which is a form of advertising a company.
I was trying to go back to the lesson and comprehend more on the assignments because some were confusing to me. Still, on Monday I want to be able to look more in-depth at what I exactly need to do in the assignments so I am able to complete them more efficiently. On the other hand, I was able to start the unit of providing services which was interesting because I got to learn how to earn income from surveys and how to properly write a press release.
First, I started with completing previous quizzes from social community organizing unit. It was hard for me to navigate which topic peaked my interested but then I started reviewing over music production which was interesting because music is a big aspect of everyone's life therefore I wanted to learn more in depth of how music is constructed and the process artist go through to be able to produce great sounds. Today I was only able to really learn about how to compose and instruct metal cover music.
Today, I was able to learn about creating Facebook ads for your digital products, more Facebook monetization ideas, tools and processes, how to set up a Facebook Business page and many more tools to work with regarding Facebook. It is interesting to learn more in depth aspects of the social media technologies that we use daily because you only really think about using the app for personal usage but never think about how there can be tools that are very beneficial if you want to promote a business on Facebook.
Today, I was able to review back on the social media unit lesson to be able to understand other social media platforms an dhow I can incorporate different aspect into a business if I was considering one.
Today, I learned about cryptocurrency and trading. I learned about how to buy and sell crypto currencies especially for a new beginners. Also I was introduced to the topic of trading cards.
I have learned about the ways that I can utilize a business that I would like to have throughout all the different social media platforms that are accessible to a lot of people. Especially throughout times like now, where platforms like Tik Tok are very big and it is easy to spread a message and become viral. I was only able to learn more in depth of different features of Instagram and Tik Tok but tomorrow I look forward to learning more insight on more social media platforms.
Today, I learned about different stocks, cryptocurrency‘s, and trading. I was already aware of Robin Hood but not really sure to navigate the app. I was able to familiarize myself more with Robin Hood today. Before it was really hard for me to be evil to understand how the stock market worked, but today’s lesson allowed me to properly learn how to read the stock market and how it functions.
I was trying to complete previous videos to finish the lessons of the introduction videos to try to get it to completion of 100%.
Today, I continued to learn about different fundamentals regarding entrepreneurship. I also try to make it a priority to go back to some videos to try to correct the percentage for the unit to be able to complete the lesson on entrepreneurship.
Today I continued to learn about entrepreneurship but specifically more in depth about the branding aspect of a business. I learned how to create your own company logo, slogan and name. I was also able to grasp the legal actions that can be taken when it comes to other businesses that are in competition. Overall, I was able to understand when it is necessary to change my company name or mission statement due to what it legal or illegal.
Today, I continued to learn about entrepreneur skills in a business from yesterday. Adding onto what I learned yesterday, today I learned about the importance of implementing partnership in a business and having someone to help co-founder a business.
I continued to learn a little more about having people skills. Something new I learned today was being able to understand different entrepreneurship skills and how to apply those skills in a business.
Today I learned about the different skills and manners people can apply when doing a job interview. I also learned what is appropriate and professional to wear and ask during interviews. Furthermore, I was able to see the different steps of the hiring process. Also, I learned the importance of utilizing the virtual apps to communicate professionally. Lastly, I was able to understand the different types of relationships that can be built between a role model and mentor.
I learned about how to navigate what kind of business I would like to create. Also, how beneficial it can be to have a remote career especially involving traveling. I learned about what digital products are and which sources are examples of digital products. I was able to discover the differences between a checking and savings account. Along with the different fees that occur within these accounts. Furthermore, I learned how to properly write and endorse a check. I was able to explore more information regarding LinkedIn and what information is useful on my resume and cover letter. To conclude, I learned the importance of image and how everything that is posted employers are able to view which helps them form an opinion of the type of person they will have at their company. Therefore, it is best to put what is appropriate.
