Pinterest and snap chat

Today I went over the pinterest and snapchat lessons. I was unaware that you could profit off of snap chat as an influencer. I assumed that this app In particular was focused on the individual users. It is interesting how many ways you can make a profit using things we normally take for granted.

Reviewing and retesting

Today I went over the material for the quizzes that I failed prior to starting the new content. I went over the mentor and mentees aspects and a bit of the stress and fitness portions of improving quality of life. I still managed to fail the mentor and mentees quizzes and will work double time to pass. I feel like I have gone over the material nonstop and with a fine tooth comb, but I must be missing something.

Facebook groups, and tiktok

Today I reviewed the Facebook social community tab and the tik tok social community tab. I gathered skills and tips that will help me grow my following and make a profit while doing so. A key tip that I found helpful is to make a private Facebook group instead of going to the Facebook market. The Facebook market will limit me in terms of selling because it would allow me to sell things one item at a time. Whereas if I make a group with people with similar interests in the items that I will be selling, I could send invoices and utilize Paypal to make a bigger profit and faster. I also found that starting Facebook groups that will generate income will take time and energy to keep my patrons engaged and prompt them to purchase my items.

Complete instagram Quiz

Today I reviewed the Instagram section of the social community lessons. I wanted to be prepared for when I took the exam so that I would be successful when I completed it. Unfortunately, I was not successful and will need to retake it again. I asked one of the representatives for clarification on my assignment revisions, so that I may perfect my executive summary and add my revisions. I submitted the executive summary for the 3rd time, hopefully, I was successful this time around.

Finishing and submitting my executive summary

Today I reviewed a series of videos and articles to finalize my executive summary and was able to submit it. I have a solid idea for an application that will start off small and then grow over time estimated to reach over a million in revenue by the end of the first year alone. The business will start as a partnership and grow into a corporation. We will have yearly meetings amongst the partners and potential board members to see about the direction of the business. After 5 years we will determine if we will sell the business, expand to other states (potentially internationally), or liquidate the company as a whole.

Reviewing profit models, starting my executive summary

I've reviewed some of the topics in the entrepreneur section of the training and started to draft my executive summary. While brain storming some ideas I came up with two potentially very profitable start ups. The one that I'm leaning towards will come in the form of an app which will help native new yorkers find key and highly reccomended places. The app will allow users to write reviews and give directions as well as detailed accounts of the places in question. I'm going to be utilizing the long tail profits model, to get the targeted audience I need and then enhance the features as the app gets more exposure.

Reviewing scams and job interviews

Today's key information informed me how to look out for scams more closely. I've learned that if an opportunity arises and it seems too good to be true it more likely a scam. I also learned that googling a company with the word scam is also a good way to test a companies validity. I reviewed job interviews as well and learned that it is im my best interest to bring along a notebook and pen when I interview. I should also research the company and not focus on negatives with companies I worked with previously.

Branding and business entities

The key information that I obtained from the lessons I completed today was the different business entities as well as branding. I learned that as a sole proprietor, you are liable for any suits that occur against the company. I learned that it is beneficial to form a corporation because as a sole proprietor your personal assets can be seized if the corporation does not cover the cost of any suit. Additionally, I learned about the fundamentals of branding which includes creating a slogan, logo, and mission statements that can change over time.

Continued Entrepreneur course

Today I learned about profit models and revenue sources. I will need to retake some quizzes tomorrow after thoroughly reviewing the information. A key takeaway I learned today was from a video I watched describing what to do when your business fails. The best advice I received was if the business is failing let it die quickly to minimize the amount of time, resources, and effort you put into something. This will allow you to see what methods work for you and don't. I also learned that it is not uncommon for a lifetime entrepreneur to have multiple failures under their belt. Knowing when to give up a business venture is a part of the process.
